The two major office supply stores, Staples/OfficeMax and Office Depot have really amazing reward programs. I’ll discuss more in details about Staples because that is the one I use the most.
Here’s how it works:
Find any and all empty ink cartridges you can find lying around your house or office space! Ask friends or family for them if you have to! For every ink cartridge you return to Staples you get $2!!! Yes that’s right, $2!! That might not seem like a lot (ok it’s more like chump change) but that $$ adds up!!
You can return/recycle up to 10 ink or toner cartridge per calendar month but with a $30 spend on ink or toner purchases at Staples over the previous 180 days and get $2 each in the form of Rewards. That’s $20! (Read more about it here.) PLUS, get 2% everything you spend. The Rewards are issued once a month and are redeemed as a form of payment when you use them so they can be stacked with coupons and sales.
This week through 4/4/15, Staples has a promotion buy $60 or more on ink or toner cartridge, you’ll get 20% off plus recycle your ink or toner cartridge you will get $4 each instead of $2. (Limit of 5 ink or toner cartridge per customer)
Here is a scenario:
Buy HP Combo 4-Pack, $62.99
Buy HP Black Cartridge, $19.99
-use 20% off coupon (-$16.60)
-recycled 5 ink cartridge ($4.00 each)
=$66.38 OOP
+ Get back $20 for recycled ink cartridges when you spend $60
+ Get 2% back in rewards on everything in store and online ($1.32)
That would work out to $45.06 for five ink cartridges, or $9.01 a cartridge, a 40% savings!
In order to receive double ink or toner rewards back, you must spend $60 or more after any discounts or coupons.
