Here’s why:
The Starbucks® Verismo™ 580 Brewer, Piano Black is originally $119.00 but on sale at Staples.com for $59.99. There is a printable coupon on Staples’ website for $60 off. Technically, this item should be 100% free (you might just pay for tax) after coupon. But this is almost too good to be true! It really is.
In store the item is ringing up regular price $119.99, after coupons it should be $59.00.
If you wanted to, you could Price Match (Staples has a 100% Guarantee Price Match policy) the online sale price, which is $59.99! A few people have successfully done this and gotten it for FREE! Most stores don’t stock more than 4-5 so good luck finding them now. Are you still with me?
So we did test out this deal but sadly we were turned away. A few shoppers beat us to it and were able to get away with getting them for 100% free! Wow. That’s just so awesome of a deal! However, we were told by the store manager that the online price already reflects the price after coupons, and so they would not or were not suppose to honor the Price Match and use the printable coupon.
What are your thoughts? Do you think Staples messed up and should honor the price, or should they just fix the online price and have their customers enter a coupon code to get the $59.99 online price?

Here’s the problem:
In honoring the deal in store, Staples has “lost $119.99 worth of product and gave it away for virtually free” as stated by the store associate we spoke to, and Staples corporate is really “upset” that this happened and that the cashier allowed it to happen.
Staples really needs to get their act together. If they in fact meant to show the price on their website, after the $60 discount coupon code (same coupon discount on printable coupon) then they should have explicitly stated that on the website.
As of publishing this post, the coupon and price are still up but the item is shown as “Out of Stock” online.
